Streeeeetch

The up-side to being in rehearsals that require a lot of movement is you loose weight AND become much more flexible because you HAVE to stretch out everyday just to do the damn thing! Although I can no longer do 6o'clock kicks nor can I do a split, my hip flexibility is kind of awesome! I set my heel on the top of the speakers (over 5' tall) and collapse over the leg. Come on, I'm over 40 that's gotta count for something! If we extend the play, a year from now I'll be throwing those 6's! Under an HOUR!!!!!!

Yes I had to get my wonderful Achilles UNDER an hour for the Fringe! UUUHHHGGGG It ran 1:15 at the run- through. SO I sliced. I diced. I blended. Went over and over each line. Condensed and refined. Lost half a monologue I was in love with. A scene that was awesome sauce on fabulounesss BUT didn't serve the narrative directly had to go go go and cut cut cut. I had a 3 day headache and almost cried at my favorite cafe. The show runs 53 minutes. I think it's better for it. But don't actually know. Life is sometimes hard. ...

Achilles in the Fringe?

I have 2 weeks left to decide. Ancient bawdiness in H-wood? I think it'd be a lot of fun. I think it'd be a lot of work. On the good side the scripts sounds amazing! That feeling a writer gets when his speech drips off the many tongues of a speaker. Like you didn't write the word. You're just a secretary taking dictation from someone infinitely cooler. All the research, hour of lattes, and cramped fingers disappears in the veil. So Hollywood Fringe or not I've got something....
